Post-hardcore band Movements return with Happier Now album and two new tracks

Southern California post-hardcore stalwarts Movements have announced their fourth full length album, Happier Now, set for release on 4th September 2026 via Fearless Records. The band marked the announcement by sharing a double single, Dissolve Me and Back in My Ways, alongside a joint music video for both tracks.

The record was once again produced by GRAMMY winner Will Yip, known for his work with Turnstile, Title Fight and Circa Survive, and sees Movements blending the earlier elements of their sound with the heavier, more expansive direction of 2023’s RUCKUS! Vocalist Patrick Miranda said the band were not initially sure what shape the album would take, but wanted it to “bring in the early elements of our sound and blend it with the newer material” from RUCKUS! to mesh both eras together.

Happier Now can be pre-ordered here ahead of its 4th September release. The album’s full track listing runs to twelve songs, opening with “Pulse” and closing with “Separate”, and features both newly shared singles as the second and sixth tracks respectively.

The full track listing for Happier Now is as follows:

  1. Pulse
  2. Dissolve Me
  3. Everything Is Fine
  4. Happier Now
  5. Flowerbed
  6. Back in My Ways
  7. Spellbound
  8. Ill at Ease
  9. Live by the Sword
  10. Everyone I’ve Ever Been
  11. Fragile Hands
  12. Separate

“Dissolve Me” was the very first track written for the record and, according to Miranda, “set a precedent for our writing process.” He called nailing the lead single on the first attempt “a significant accomplishment” and described the song as “the perfect culmination of energy, emotion, and growth for us sonically.” Lyrically, the track is an introspective confession about his own social behaviours and the difficulty he faces navigating even minor everyday interactions, feelings he says can accumulate “to the point where they can become debilitating.”

“Back in My Ways” took a different route to the finished album. Miranda admitted he “kinda hated” the track at first, wary of slipping back into the “sadder side” of the band’s music, but it has since become one of his favourite songs on the record. Sonically, the track is a slow burn, built on tinny riffs and evenly delivered vocals that steadily escalate before erupting into a torrent of riffs and emotive vocals in its final third, harking back to Movements’ earlier sound.

The announcement lands as Movements continue performing on this summer’s Warped Tour, a run Miranda describes as “a full circle moment” given the community’s role in inspiring the band growing up. Happier Now marks the band’s fourth full length for Fearless Records and arrives on 4th September 2026.
