By measuring average monthly searches for terms like “concerts near me,” “live music,” and “concert tickets” adjusted for population, Newcastle-upon-Tyne emerges as the top spot with 395 searches per 100,000 residents.
Global stars such as Coldplay, Billie Eilish, and Dua Lipa have driven this surge through their 2025 tours, boosting attendance and economic impact across the country. Cities outside London are showing particularly strong enthusiasm, highlighting a decentralised boom in the live music scene. Fanatix’s findings, supported by their ticket specialists, underscore how search interest correlates with high ticket demand and sellouts.
The full rankings reveal a diverse spread of passionate music hubs. Newcastle leads, followed closely by Manchester at 379 searches per 100,000. Brighton & Hove ranks third with 360, while Edinburgh and Norwich complete the top five at 333 and 239 respectively. London, despite its dominance in venues, places sixth with 222 searches per 100,000, largely due to its massive population diluting per-capita figures.
In Newcastle, local talent like Sam Fender delivered multiple shows at St James’ Park in June 2025, injecting £16.5 million into the economy.
