Paul Weller has been confirmed as the first headliner for In the Park Newcastle 2026, taking to the stage at Exhibition Park on Friday 10th July. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday 31st October, priced from £58.50 plus booking fees, with presale access available from 10am on Thursday 30th October for those who sign up via the festival website.
The announcement follows the festival’s hugely successful debut at its new Exhibition Park home earlier this year. Organisers have promised that the 2026 edition will be the biggest and most memorable yet, with Paul Weller leading a lineup that will feature more acts to be announced in the coming months.
Over a career spanning five decades, Weller has established himself as one of British music’s most influential figures. His body of work includes 28 studio albums and has earned him multiple Brit Awards, Ivor Novellos and eight Number One records. From his era-defining work with The Jam, whose explosive 1977 debut In The City became a cornerstone of the punk era, to the soulful sophistication of The Style Council and acclaimed solo albums including Wild Wood and Stanley Road, Weller has continually evolved while maintaining his distinctive modernist approach.
Recent albums such as On Sunset and 66, released in 2024, demonstrate his relentless creative energy and refusal to rest on past achievements. Known for his electrifying live performances and forward-looking songwriting, Weller remains an artist in constant motion, viewing his extensive back catalogue as merely a foundation for future exploration.
The festival takes place at Exhibition Park on Claremont Road in Newcastle, with doors opening at 5pm and the event running until 11pm. Last entry is at 7:30pm. The event is open to those aged 14 and over, with under-18s required to be accompanied by an adult at all times. Challenge 21 will be in operation, meaning valid photo ID is required for alcohol purchases.
