It is finally happening. After years of internet campaigns, memes, and genuine requests from fans, Download Festival has answered the call.
German techno icons Scooter have been officially confirmed for Download Festival 2026.
In a move that shatters traditional genre boundaries, the group will headline the Avalanche Stage at the spiritual home of rock. The festival returns to Donington Park in Leicestershire next summer, running from 10-14 June 2026.
Scooter are Germany’s most successful techno act, and their addition to the bill brings a massive rave energy to the proceedings. Frontman H. P. Baxxter will lead the charge as the group makes their very first appearance at the festival.
They join an already stacked line-up at Download XXIII, sitting alongside massive headliners Limp Bizkit, Guns N’ Roses, and Linkin Park.
While they might seem like an outlier to the uninitiated, Scooter have achieved undeniable cult status over the last 30 years. With over 30 million records sold and 2.5 billion streams, they are a global phenomenon rather than a simple nostalgia act.
Fans can expect a high-energy set featuring era-defining classics like ‘The Logical Song’, ‘Hyper Hyper’, and ‘How Much Is The Fish?’.
The organisers have confirmed that Scooter will be joining a diverse roster of artists already announced for the weekend.
With sold-out shows ranging from Europe to Australia, the band’s live reputation is legendary. Their booking for the Avalanche Stage suggests the festival is leaning into the party atmosphere for 2026.
