Shindig Weekender have confirmed that they will be returning to their Gilcombe Farm site near the Somerset village of Bruton for 2019’s event.

The ‘funkiest festival in the West Country’ has also revealed the first artists set to play at next summer’s event, taking place on the bank holiday weekend from 24th – 26th May.

Four-time Grammy nominated Kenny Dope and leading force in funk Fort Knox Five will both be appearing at the event. Fork Knox Five are scheduled to appear in a takeover of Shindig’s Ghetto Funk Nightclub.

More artists are set to be revealed over the coming weeks.

A spokesperson for Shindig Weekender told TheFestivals: “We are excited to announce that we are back at Gilcombe Farm for Shindig Festival 2019.

“Gilcombe has been our home for the last 4 years and we are delighted to be back again.

“Tickets have been flying out and we only have a limited amount of £115 adult tickets still available.”

Shindig Weekender are one of many festivals that have chosen to ban glitter and other single-use plastics such as straws. They’ve also set up an initiative to cycle to the festival, and only allow biodegradable water bottles to be sold at the event.

Organisers recently told fans on social media that whilst nothing is confirmed, they are in talks regarding putting on some kind of winter event.

We had a great time at Shindig ourselves this summer and definitely plan to return next year.
