Live Streaming Glastonbury

Glasto began in the late summer of 1970 at Worthy Farm, Glastonbury, and was originally called The Pilton Pop, Folk and Blues Festival. The festival is the brainchild of Michael and Jean Eavis. They later renamed the event Glastonbury Fayre and changed the date to coincide with the summer solstice.
Marc Bolan and T Rex opened the festival in 1970. Emily Eavis took over the reins of this iconic event after her mother, Jean, died in 1999 and her father retired. However, the Eavis family still controls the festival, and the event remains authentic to their vision.
This year, rumours are that a famous ‘material girl’ will appear on the Pyramid Stage. The likes of Dua Lipa, Sam Fender, and Coldplay have all been confirmed and will perform.
Glastonbury 2024 will be live-streamed in part through Glastonbury’s website and via the BBC, who have the rights to all the broadcasts. The Isle of Wight Festival – IOWF
The Isle of Wight Festival (IOWF) began with a series of smaller festivals between late 1968 and summer 1970. In 1970 and acknowledged as an inspiration for Glastonbury, the lineup at IOWF was Jimi Hendrix (his last performance), The Doors, Joni Mitchell, The Who, Supertramp, and many others.
The Isle of Wight Festival, while an iconic event considered to be the UK’s version of Woodstock, didn’t succeed, and Glastonbury took its hotspot between 1970 and 2002. In 2002, John Giddings, an established music promoter, saw the success of Glastonbury and seized the chance to re-launch IOWF to a new and exciting crowd.
Today, Giddings still has a hand in every part of the festival, and that’s why you can expect to see many famous faces. The Isle of Wight Festival has teamed up with Absolute Radio to stream its music to your ears, and visuals will come via live-streaming to Instagram and Facebook.
The Isle of Wight Festival and Glastonbury have their history firmly placed in the late ’60s and ’70s, but Creamfields is different altogether; it is much more indie with fewer mainstream acts and is way more technology-focused.
Creamfields 2024
Creamfields began in 1998 as a one-day annual event run by the Liverpool nightclub called Cream. The lineup in 1998 featured DJs as well as bands. Run DMC headlined, as did Primal Scream, and Daft Punk, making Creamfields a techno, trance, electro, and drum and bass music event.
During the pandemic, when other festivals, including Glastonbury, were cancelled, Creamfields kept the music going by live-streaming its very own house party with DJs featuring at the top of the bill. Performers included Martin Garrix, Calvin Harris, and Tiësto, who live-streamed from the Netherlands.
This year, Creamfields will be live-streamed on Mixcloud, Twitch, and the Creamfield app. The content fuels social media and promotes dance acts and DJs. The 2024 lineup includes Adam Beyer, Black Coffee, Chris Stussy, David Guetta, and Cloonne, to name but a few.
