Boomtown unveil 2018 lineup with Gorillaz and Limp Bizkit

8th February 2018 Off By

Boomtown have secured Gorillaz as a UK festival exclusive for 2018, joining rap-rock superstars Limp Bizkit and South African tro Die Antwoord at the festival’s 10th anniversary.

They will feature alongside over 200 more acts, including Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, Jimmy Cliff, Amadou & Mariam, Morcheeba, and Sleaford Mods.

The festival’s 10th ‘chapter’ has now grown to a 60,000 capacity event, held at the Matterley Estate in Hampshire over the weekend of 9th – 12th August 2018.

Boomtown also released this exiting teaser video earlier this week:

The festival features over 27 main stages and nine theatrical districts. They released the following statement today:

Those in attendance can expect to be taken on a journey of live and electronic music around the UK underground, via global superstars and grassroots talent from over 50 countries across the world. Those of any age, young and a little less young,  first timers or Boomtown stalwarts, there is something for everyone, if you can’t find it, you’re not looking properly 😉

As the one of the UK’s largest truly independent festivals bringing together multiple characters, voices, sounds and ideas, we’ve overcome a range of challenges over the past decade as the fastest growing festival in the country, selling out every year and expanding from 1,000 in 2009 to 60,000 in 2015.

On top of the eclectic music line up, we put equal importance on production value and theatrical storylines to take our citizens on a journey into the future, back to the past and across a spectrum of alternative realities through film set-esque production including; the dystopian nuclear power station of Sector 6, the bohemian circus of Oldtown and technological advancements of the Metropolis quarter.  The myriad of potential adventures are never ending within our surreal, escapist fantasy land for all ages.
