Boomtown will return to Matterley Estate from Wednesday 11th to Sunday 15th August 2027 for Chapter 6: Wild Style. Bicep will close Lion’s Den, and Noisia will close the green hydrogen powered HYDRO XL.
Tickets are on sale now at boomtownfair.co.uk. The Phase 1 line-up announcement is confirmed for Thursday 26th November.
Bicep’s Lion’s Den close has been a long time coming. The Belfast duo release Slug in January 2027, their first album in five years, after a run of ambitious live shows. Bicep said: “After years of trying to make it work, we are very excited to finally be bringing the live show to Boomtown to close the Lions Den in 2027.”
Noisia’s return is the sharper booking. The Dutch trio, pioneers of modern bass music, have announced a surprise reunion four years after their farewell. Their final UK show was on the Origin stage at Boomtown 2022. They had already played the festival before that goodbye, first revealed for the Palace stage in 2015. Thijs from Noisia said: “The last time I played Boomtown was during our farewell tour. I remember looking out at 35,000 people filling the entire bowl, there to say goodbye to us. It was an incredible moment, but all I could think was that it should have been the three of us on that stage. So it feels pretty special that we get to come back and play Boomtown together after all.”
Lion’s Den came back to its Temple Valley amphitheatre in 2026. HYDRO XL, the stage Noisia will close, was scaled up during Radical Redesign from the 8,000 capacity hydrogen stage introduced in 2025 to a 20,000 capacity arena. Skrillex closed it in 2026. It runs sound, lighting, video and production off green hydrogen fuel cells, with water and heat as the only byproduct.
Away from the closing sets, work has started on a major reimagining of Anara Forest. Organisers describe it as a space of hidden discoveries and a 360 degree audiovisual journey between the trees.

Also new for 2027 is The Transportal, a ride up Hippy Highway. It will connect Downtown in the bowl with Copperwood Heights and Thrutopia on the Hilltop, turning the walk between districts into its own show. Boomtown says it will be powered by green energy (or magic), across a city map spread over the South Downs.
Wild Style follows the 17th edition, which stretched back across the hills, valleys, natural amphitheatres and woodlands of the Hampshire site. That city had six districts, 12 main stages, more than 50 hidden venues and thousands of musicians, actors, performers, artists, makers and creatives. Tickets sold out in record time for 77,000 people. Boomtown has the most shortlist nominations of any festival at the UK Festival Awards 2026, up for Large Festival of the Year, The Green Award, Tech Innovation, Production and Infrastructure.
The 18th edition is an 18+ five day camping festival at Matterley Bowl on the Matterley Estate, a working dairy farm at the most westerly point of the South Downs National Park, near Winchester, Hampshire, SO21 1HW. Tickets for Chapter 6: Wild Style are on sale at boomtownfair.co.uk.
