In the Park Newcastle will return to Exhibition Park next summer for a three-day concert series, with Manchester indie favourites Courteeners announced as the first headliners for 2027. They open the series on Thursday 8th July, joined by special guests The Coral and Seb Lowe.

The series runs on Thursday 8th, Friday 9th and Sunday 11th July, bringing major live music back to the heart of Newcastle. More big names are still to be announced. Friday 9th July and Sunday 11th July currently list line-ups as TBA.

Tickets are expected to sell out, priced from £57.50. Sign up for pre-sale access at intheparkfestival.com/courteeners. Presale tickets go live at 10am (GMT) on Wednesday 4th November, with general tickets available from 10am (GMT) on Friday 6th November. Full event details are at intheparkfestival.com.

The show takes place at Exhibition Park, Claremont Road, Newcastle, NE2 4PZ. It is open to ages 14 and over. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult at all times, with a maximum of two children per adult. Challenge 21 is in operation, so valid photo ID is required.

Led by frontman Liam Fray, Courteeners have spent two decades as one of the UK’s biggest guitar bands, with a fiercely loyal following and a catalogue that includes ‘Not Nineteen Forever’, ‘Are You In Love With A Notion?’, ‘Modern Love’ and ‘The 17th’. Since breakthrough debut St. Jude in 2008, they have sold over a million albums in the UK across seven studio albums, with their last five releases reaching the Top Five. In 2023, St. Jude topped the UK Albums Chart, fifteen years after its original release.

This year marked 20 years for the band. Career-spanning greatest hits album God Bless The Band reached Number Two in the UK Albums Chart, and the celebrations included a sold-out homecoming at Manchester’s Wythenshawe Park. The band also announced a best of album and arena tour earlier this year, and have just been confirmed to headline Rock N Roll Circus in Sheffield on Saturday 28th August 2027.

Organisers say the Exhibition Park headline, with The Coral and Seb Lowe, should be a standout moment in the return of the series. The 2026 edition of In the Park brought Lewis Capaldi, Paul Weller and Wolf Alice to Exhibition Park, following the series’ move to the site.
