After tickets for their long-awaited 2023 tour sold out in minutes yesterday, social media is awash with rumours that the Arctic Monkeys could be set to headline Glastonbury next summer.
Their tour dates include a gap over the Glastonbury weekend of 23rd – 25th June, leaving the band free for a potential Glasto appearance on either the Friday or Saturday nights.
And last week, Arctic Monkeys were widely reported to have signed a deal to headline the festival’s iconic Pyramid Stage. A source told The Sun: “‘Alex Turner and the band are coming back to Glastonbury, and this time their set is going to be even bigger and better.
“The lads have signed on the dotted line and will return to the Pyramid Stage next June.
“It is really special for them to be doing a hat-trick on that stage and it is something they have wanted to do for a while.
‘After the festival dates lined up with their upcoming tour they said they couldn’t not play there again.
“The band are in the process of putting together their team and are working on making their performance one of Glastonbury’s most memorable.”
Arctic Monkeys have long been rumoured to play at Glastonbury 2023. Earlier this year, in July, the widely respected ‘Has it leaked?’ website tweeted to say the band we’re booked in for the festival.
The band previously headlined Glastonbury in 2007 and 2013, appearing on the Pyramid Stage on Friday night on both occasions.

Glastonbury 2023 will take place from Wednesday 21st to Sunday 25 June. Tickets will go on sale a month later than usual this year, early in November. Registration is currently open, with only those already registered able to buy tickets when they are released.
