There were euphoric scenes across Victoria Park today as acclaimed production duo, Bicep, performed live in London for the first time since 2018, bringing the curtain down on Field Day’s landmark homecoming.
40,000 music fans flocked to east London for the sold-out show, which took place as part of All Points East event series for the first time.
Some of contemporary music’s finest artists performed across six arenas, with an early standout performance from rising star, TSHA who’s infectious energy got the Field Day crowds in high spirits. Acclaimed production duo, Overmono dropped their 2021 anthem, ‘So U Kno’ to rapturous applause and Special Request blended seamlessly from jungle to tough techno for his performance on BBC 6 Music’s X Stage.
In the early evening light, Hot Chip Megamix delivered a fun-fuelled set including smash-hit classic, ‘Over and Over’ with live vocals from Alexis Taylor, and The Blessed Madonna spun jacked-up house to a backdrop of affirmations such like ‘Hope is a strategy’ and ‘House is a feeling’.
Streams of party-goers flowed across Victoria Park to see Floating Points’ sunset live performance, pairing his precision production style with stripped-back visuals across Field Day’s colossal main stage.
With electrifying anticipation, Bicep took to the stage, performing from within a custom-design set of intricate LED screens and striking visuals, that perfectly complemented their hypnotic delivery. Across 90 minutes they masterfully built their sound, captivating the audience until their final encore of iconic track, Glue.
With plans already underway for 2022, and the first details announced next week, Field Day’s story continues to grow.
