Deftones closed out All Points East presents Outbreak Fest on Sunday night, delivering a 95 minute headline set at Victoria Park that pulled from more than three decades of the Sacramento band’s uncompromising alternative catalogue, from 1994’s Adrenaline through to 2025’s Private Music, in front of a capacity crowd of 50,000.
The set capped what organisers billed as the biggest celebration of countercultural music London has ever seen, with a line-up curated by Outbreak Fest, the UK’s premier festival devoted to underground music, and featuring IDLES, Amyl and the Sniffers, AFI, EsDeeKid, JPEGMAFIA and SALEM among the day’s other major draws.
Deftones frontman Chino Moreno paused mid-set to address the crowd, telling them: “What a fucking wonderful day today. So much good music, so many beautiful faces. And it’s Sunday night, go figure. You guys are awesome, thank you so much.” The band brought the night to a close with ‘7 Words’, the final track of a set that spanned their entire discography.
Sunday marked the third full instalment of All Points East’s 2026 programme at Victoria Park, and the festival’s full schedule for the summer had already confirmed Deftones as headliners of the Outbreak Fest date alongside Lorde’s Saturday 22 August show. All Points East now continues next week with a double header from Tyler, The Creator on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th August, before Twenty One Pilots close out the run on Sunday 30th August. Lido Festival then takes over Victoria Park on Bank Holiday Monday (31 August), headlined by Maribou State. Tickets for the remaining dates are on sale now at allpointseastfestival.com.
Elsewhere on the bill, Bristol post-punk band IDLES put on a set that fused the introspective and confrontational, marking their first London performance since 2024. Pub rock favourites Amyl and the Sniffers raised dust clouds on the East Stage, while EsDeeKid caused a frenzy in the North Arena, bringing out collaborator Rico Ace on top of an onstage castle for mass singalongs to ‘LV Sandals’ and ‘Phantom’. JPEGMAFIA launched what organisers described as a full-scale assault on the crowd gathered at the East Stage.
Electronic and dance acts also made their mark across the day. Witch house pioneers SALEM made a triumphant return to London after 15 years, conjuring a snowstorm inside All Points East’s blue big top, while Japanese selector ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U brought chaos to the early evening slot and UK electronic experimentalist Blawan debuted an explosive new live set on the X Stage.
The day’s programming began early, with Show Me The Body, Basement, Deafheaven and Mannequin Pussy blowing away any Sunday morning cobwebs, while newer acts including Overgrown, VILLANELLE, Reclus.É and Eternal Rin drew packed crowds across multiple stages. Eternal Rin told the audience: “Thank you so much for letting me take you on a journey this afternoon. To be at this festival, on this line up, and have so many of you here with me, blows me away.”
All Points East presents Outbreak Fest is 16+ only, with anyone aged 16 to 17 required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian aged 18 or over.
