Volunteer with Big Green Coach at over 30 festivals

Big Green Coach is the largest events travel company in the UK. They work with more festival and gigs than anybody else. This summer you can volunteer with them to learn more about the green & sustainable issues surrounding festival travel and make a real difference at festivals and live events.

Did you know that 80% of a festivals carbon emission is made up of audience travel?! That’s an enormous number and alongside festivals, Big Green Coach are trying to bring this down by providing coach travel from all over the UK.

Providing travel for festivals such as Boardmasters, Creamfields, Download, Isle of Wight, Latitude, Reading and Leeds, to name a few, Big Green Coach look for volunteers to help them in the festival coach park.

Volunteering hours differ at each event but generally volunteers come along and help out for two days. This is one day before the event begins and the Monday morning once the festival has finished, that means volunteers miss none of the music!

Volunteers will help to get festival goers on and off site. They will be helping park up coaches, liaising with coach drivers, pointing customers in the right direction, help with luggage, check tickets, check seat numbers and send full coaches on their way home.

In exchange for your help volunteers receive a free staff wristband and a place in staff camping. Applicants can also request the same volunteering hours as their friends to make sure they can enjoy the festival together.

This is great experience to update your cv with and of course this is invaluable to anyone considering a career in live events. Make some contacts in your free time and see how a festival is produced, see what goes into making everything run smoothly and get some experience in a customer facing role.

Big Green Coach sponsor 5sq ft of Amazonian Rainforest for each customer that travels with them for 10 years. This is a project they’re passionate about and has a huge positive impact on the environment. However, it’s hard to see the impact so they grab all the volunteers that have helped out over the year and arrange a day of tree planting. It’s a great way to end the summer as a team.
