After adding to the line-up again last month, day tickets for Download Festival 2022 will go on sale at 10 am today, Tuesday 29th March.
Friday 10th June‘s main stage line-up will include Kiss, A Day To Remember, Skindred and Black Veil Brides on the main stage, with The Distillers and Airbourne top of the bill for the second stage. Saturday 11th June will feature Iron Maiden‘s headline set along with Deftones, Shinedown, The Pretty Reckless, Megadeth and Mastodon. On Sunday 12th June, Biffy Clyro will close the main stage with Korn, Volbeat, and Rise Against also on the billing. Steel Panther will close the second stage with a headline set. Day ticket prices will be revealed when tickets go on sale, with each customer able to buy up to six tickets. Full weekend camping tickets are also still available. Download Festival returns this summer after a two-year break during the pandemic. Taking place relatively early in the festival season on the second weekend of June, it was one of the first events to announce its cancellation when covid first struck, confirmed three days after the UK went into lockdown in March 2020.
Though the full-size Download couldn’t happen in 2021 either, the festival made history by holding a downscaled pilot event as part of the UK Government’s Events Research Programme. Bands played for expenses and a drastically reduced capacity meant fans camped in the arena – meaning it was just a few minute’s walk to the arena. Check out our full review here.
Those after day tickets for Download 2022 have been waiting a while for the chance to buy them – with the day splits being confirmed way back in September 2021. Meanwhile, those holding weekend tickets who’ve been to Download twice or more between 2012 and 2019 are eligible for the Download Loyalty Scheme, offering up to £50 of ‘Download Pounds’ to spend at the event. Applications close at midnight on Friday 1st April, so you’ve only got a couple of days left to apply.
