Join the ‘UK Music Festival Volunteers & Staff Community’ group on Facebook!

It’s a great place to share advice between organisations and across the hundreds of different festivals in the UK each summer. It’ll be a great place to find volunteering opportunities and paid work at your favourite festivals. A group to swap shifts to see your favourite bands and find out about the shortcuts into the arena which you’re allowed to use but just don’t know about! Visit the Volunteers & Staff Facebook group then check out your options for Camp Bestival below.

Camp Bestival takes place over the first weekend of August at Dulworth Castle. It is a family-friendly sister festival to Bestival, which this year also takes place at the Dulworth Castle site.

How to: Get free Camp Bestival Tickets

Volunteering with Oxfam

Oxfam offer free entry to Camp Bestival in return for working three eight hour shifts. A refundable deposit of £220 is payable, which will be returned provided all shifts are completed as promised. In addition to free Camp Bestival tickets, Oxfam volunteers are provided with secure camping, hot tea & coffee, phone charging, and one meal token per shift.

The roles available with Oxfam include checking wristbands at the main entrance and the arena entrance, wristband exchanges, disability viewing platforms, and stewarding within the arena. Shop volunteers are also required, who will work a different shift pattern, usually every day of the event. Shop volunteers have first access to the awesome clothing sold in the festival Oxfam charity shop, which is known to stockpile the best Oxfam charity shop donations from across the country.

Check out Oxfam’s application system on their official website.

Volunteering with FESTAFF

Fans can secure free tickets to Camp Bestival in return for volunteering with FESTAFF. They’re one of my favourite firms to volunteer with, firstly because you usually only have to work two 8 hour shifts. Most other volunteering companies make you work three 8 hour shifts.

FESTAFF also give you a meal voucher each shift, which can usually be used at any of the food traders around the festival. Other firms often don’t.

The volunteering roles available at Camp Bestival include bar work, wristband checking, and information personnel. Specific shifts are not confirmed until on site, in contrast to other festival volunteering organisations who often confirm your shifts in advance.

One big advantage of volunteering with FESTAFF is they only charge a £20 deposit to applicants, which is refunded on site. Whilst they do charge a £15 administration fee on top, other volunteering organisations can charge deposits of up to £200 which may not be refunded for months after the event.

To apply for free Camp Bestival tickets, in return for three shifts of volunteering, head to the FESTAFF website and fill out the online application form. FESTAFF’s full list of events includes:

  • Common People
  • Isle of Wight
  • Kendal Calling
  • Camp Bestival
  • Bestival
  • Carfest
  • Creamfields
  • Rewind
  • Bloodstock

Those volunteering with FESTAFF for free Camp Bestival tickets will also be given free staff car parking passes.

Other ways to get free Camp Bestival tickets

As of yet, we are unaware of any other organisations offering free entry to Camp Bestival . This page will be updated should further opportunities become available. All festivals require thousands of paid staff, most of which will be granted a free ticket to the event. Check with local temporary work agencies and you may find something you love.
