It looks like Lily Allen is making her way into the Glastonbury site, according to an Instagram story she shared this afternoon.
In posted videos of her family in the car with her, the acclaimed artist asks Marnie Rose, her daughter, Rose if she’s “ready for Glastonbury?” – then in a subsequent snap, shown above, she writes: “She thinks she’s embarrassed now… wait till I hit that stage later”.
We don’t know where or when she might be appearing. It looks like she could be heading for a guest appearance in another artist’s performance – but we do still have a few unknown secret sets on the list for today.
UPDATE: Lily Allen appeared on stage with Olivia Rodrigo, when they dedicated a performance of her song ‘Fuck You’ to the US Supreme Court for overturning the Roe v Wade ruling on women’s rights. See the clip below.
Lily Allen last appeared at Glastonbury in 2014 when her Pyramid Stage set was cut short by a delay caused when a thunderstorm over the site led to a power outage. Even so, The Guardian said her: “potty mouth and raw charisma added up to an irresistible show.”
She was previously featured on the Pyramid Stage line-ups for Glastonbury 2007 and 2009.
On Thursday night, Bastille played a not-so-secret set to a packed William’s Green tent – with stewards having the close the area hours before as crowds descended and filled it to capacity. The band appeared with Old Dirty Brasstards and played a set of their classics reworked with the brass band.
