Have you turned up to Glastonbury today and then realised you’ve forgotten something you just can’t survive the week without? Perhaps you needed to travel light or maybe you’ve realised a solar camping shower is a necessity after roasting in today’s heat? You could even get a load of extra alcohol delivered.
If there’s something you really want you may feel obligated to spend hours searching Glasto’s massive site to pay over the odds for an alternative – or, quite possibly, you can get what you need delivered, next-day, for free, ready for you to pick up from Pilton’s Post Office. It’s so close to the festival that depending on where you’ve camped, it could well be a shorter walk than it would be to the car parks.
Loads of websites will deliver to the Post Office as part of their Local Collect service, but the easiest way to get what you want with free next-day collection is probably through Amazon. If neither you or anyone you’re camped with has a Prime subscription, you can easily start a 30-day free trial* and get as much as you want throughout the festival, or simply pay £4.99 per order instead.
To place an order for collection, add what you want to your basket as normal, then hit the button to change your delivery address at checkout. Click “Search for a pick-up location near me” and then type in ‘Pilton’ to search around the festival. The Post Office on St Mary’s Lane is definitely the closest and well within walking distance, but if you’re headed off-site in a car anyway, you can find plenty of other pick-up points dotted around Shepton Mallet and Glastonbury town.
Once you’ve placed your order, keep an eye on your phone so you know when it’s been delivered (it might not be there first thing the next morning!). Then, all you need to do is head into Pilton and find the Post Office inside the permanent Co-op shop (i.e. definitely don’t go to the temporary Co-op within the festival itself!). Take your phone with you for navigation, drag some friends along and you should find it’s less than a 20-minute walk from either gates A or B.
Amazon isn’t the only way to get things delivered to Pilton Post Office, you just need to find a retailer that offers the Post Office’s Local Collect service (and that will deliver your stuff before you go back home, ideally the next day!) Brands like Asos use Collect+ instead, which doesn’t have a collection point in Pilton itself, though there are plenty a short drive away in Shepton Mallet and Glastonbury Town.

Here’s a quick selection of booze Amazon have on offer this week. With prices on-site reaching £6 for a pint of Carlsberg or £9 for a single spirit and mixer, a short walk into Pilton could lead to some serious savings. Just make sure you’ve got a plastic (or metal) bottle to reuse when you go to collect them, as you won’t be able to bring the glass bottles into the festival.
