The anticipation for Glastonbury Festival 2023 is building, as eagle-eyed viewers of the BBC Glastonbury Webcam have noticed the covers beginning to be added to the Pyramid Stage’s permanent frame. The festival is set to start on Wednesday 21st June, a little over a month away.
Social media platforms, particularly Twitter, are abuzz as fans eagerly share screenshots of the Pyramid Stage’s transformation, marking another step towards the festival’s commencement. This annual ritual has become a part of the Glastonbury Festival experience for many, with the installation of the stage covers serving as a symbolic countdown to the event.
While the Pyramid Stage garners much of the attention, in the background, the Other Stage is also quietly taking shape, as shown in the periphery of the webcam’s view. The Other Stage is the second biggest stage at the festival, known for hosting a diverse range of performances.
Historically, the timing of the covers’ installation has varied. In 2019, the covers were applied as early as April 3rd, and in 2017, it was later, on April 21st. Last year, in 2022, the covers went up unusually early, on the 24th of March.
The Pyramid Stage will be headlined by rock legends Arctic Monkeys and Guns n Roses, alongside the iconic Elton John. Meanwhile, the line-ups for Glastonbury’s other areas are being announced progressively, adding to the growing buzz around the event.
