Glastonbury Festival has officially released the line-up for Shangri-La, marking the eighth individual area to announce artists for the 2023 event. The news was shared via the festival’s official Twitter account on Thursday, 11th May, at 12 pm BST. The announcement stated, “The incredible Shangri-La is back with a vibrant line-up for Glastonbury 2023!”
The line-up for 2023 boasts an eclectic mix of artists, with the newly unveiled poster featuring names such as Skindred, Flava D, Lady Shaka, and the New York Brass Band. The Streets’ Mike Skinner, and BBC 6 Music’s Craig Charles, who had self-confirmed his appearance earlier this year, will also be part of the performance roster.

In addition to the line-up announcement, sound system and live events label Alternate revealed plans for a new stage to be introduced at the 2023 festival. Dubbed the “NOWHERE stage,” the high-tech, panoramic platform will accommodate over 5,000 attendees, replacing the Gas Tower stage for this year’s festival.
Shangri-La, which made its debut at Glastonbury Festival in 2008, has evolved into an integral part of the festival’s late-night area, affectionately known as the ‘Naughty Corner’. The organisers of Shangri-La are known for their commitment to fostering community and inspiring creativity. They describe their mission as “Holding a mirror up to the masses. Creating conversations, expanding minds & opening hearts. Motivating people in politics & play.”
In the run-up to this year’s festival, a video has been circulated from the previous year’s event, produced by the Shangri-La team. The short film showcases the collective efforts of artists, activists, musicians, and makers who contribute to the festival’s mission of inspiring community and collaboration for the next generation.
