Harry Styles rumoured to play at Glastonbury 2022

Harry Styles fans are asking if the former One Direction singer could be on this summer’s Glastonbury line-up – after he was revealed as a headliner for California’s massive Coachella festival last week.

UPDATE: Harry’s tour dates announced today contain a “Glasto gap”, with nothing scheduled between the Wednesday and the Sunday of Glastonbury 2022 – leaving room for a future announcement.

Longstanding rumours of Harry being lined up for a solo performance at Glasto’ have been drawn out by the festival’s cancellations in 2020 and 2021.

Ahead of Glastonbury’s planned 50th-anniversary edition, now rolled over to this summer, a source told the Daily Star: “Harry’s solo career is a huge departure from the pop stuff he did with One Direction. There’s a genuine respect for the music he’s making and festival organisers know he can pull in the crowds.”

Harry would become the first member of One Direction to play Glastonbury. None of the bands former members, nor the band itself, have yet appeared on the line-up at Worthy Farm.

His solo career has enjoyed particular success in the US, becoming the first British male artist to have his first two studio albums enter the Billboard charts at number one on release. His second album, Fine Line, was certified platinum in the UK and double-platinum in the USA.

Harry’s two appearances at Coachella, set for April, are his only tour dates confirmed for 2022 as yet.

Glastonbury Rewild

As it stands, only Billie Eilish and Diana Ross have been officially confirmed by Glastonbury organisers as part of the line-up.

However, a few other artists have self-confirmed their place, including Crowded HouseCraig Charles, Papaphone and Black Dyke Band. The latter will open the Pyramid Stage on Sunday morning.

Billie Eilish will be the youngest ever Pyramid Stage headliner, at 20 years old when she performs on the Friday night. Diana Ross will take the Pyramid’s Sunday afternoon ‘Legends Slot’.

The full line-up is usually revealed towards the end of May, just a few weeks before the festival, although more artists are often confirmed from February.

Glastonbury 2022 will take place from Wednesday 22nd to Sunday 26th June at Worthy Farm near Pilton, Somerset. Tickets sold out ahead of the cancelled 2020 festival, though a resale of cancelled tickets will take place before the event.
