Parklife have this afternoon launched a competition to name their ‘cyber bouncer’, that being the blue cyclops character used in their recent promotional material.

You don’t have long to get your entries in, with the winner being chosen early next week.

Fans of the Manchester festival are asked to ‘quote tweet’ the image shown below, adding their suggested name and a #PL19 hashtag.

The suggestions so far include ‘Roy Cropper The Sniff Stopper’ from Adam Woolham and many with references to Manchester’s Factory nightclub. The club hit national headlines after a viral video showed bouncers assaulting two males, leaving one with a bleed on the brain.

Parklife founder and Manchester night tsar Sacha Lord condemned the attack and said that it was correct for the club’s licence to be suspended.

Before Christmas, Parklife opened pre-sale registration for 2019 tickets, which gives entry to another competition for VIP tickets.

In the run-up to Parklife 2018, they offered 2 VIP tickets as a reward to anyone who returned their favourite sign, after it was stolen at an event in Fallowfield, Manchester’s student area.

Liam Gallagher also got potato peelers added to Parklife’s list of banned items.

The line-up for Parklife 2019 is yet to be revealed.
