Rock N Roll Circus has confirmed Wunderhorse as the Saturday headliner for its 2026 Sheffield edition. The rapidly rising rock outfit will top the bill at Don Valley Bowl on Saturday 29 August 2026, completing the festival’s headline trio alongside The Streets and Richard Ashcroft.
This announcement represents a significant coup for the Sheffield festival, marking one of only two outdoor UK shows Wunderhorse will play this year. Crucially for northern fans, Rock N Roll Circus will be the band’s only outdoor performance taking place outside of London in 2026.
Joining Wunderhorse for what promises to be a standout day of guitar music is a formidable support bill. Baxter Dury has been confirmed as main support, bringing his sharp social observation and unique stage presence to the big top.
The undercard is equally impressive, featuring recent Mercury Prize winners English Teacher and the chaotic, much-loved London indie group Fat Dog. Organisers have teased that more names are still to be announced for the Saturday line-up.
Tickets for the event go on general sale on Friday 6 February. Fans can also access a presale starting Wednesday 4 February via the Rock N Roll Circus website.
Led by Jacob Slater, Wunderhorse have seen their popularity surge following the release of their acclaimed second album, Midas. Produced at the legendary Pachyderm Studio in Minnesota, the album captures the raw intensity of the band’s live shows and recently won The Group Award at the 2025 Rolling Stone UK Awards, beating established acts like Oasis and The Prodigy.
Festival Director Ali O’Reilly highlighted the significance of the booking, stating: “Wunderhorse are one of the most exciting British bands to emerge in recent years, and bringing one of their only outdoor UK shows to Sheffield feels incredibly significant.”
“We are huge fans of the band and tried really hard to get them over the line,” O’Reilly added. “Our programming has always been about championing artists who are shaping the future of live music and giving audiences outside of London access to truly special shows.”
The announcement finalises the headline programme for the 2026 weekend. The festival opens on Friday 28 August with The Streets performing A Grand Don’t Come For Free in full. Wunderhorse take the Saturday slot, while Richard Ashcroft closes the event on Sunday 30 August, supported by The Fratellis and Cast.
Beyond the music, Rock N Roll Circus continues to offer a unique festival experience. The main stage is housed inside a massive big top, ensuring performances are weather-proof while maintaining an intimate atmosphere. The site also features immersive circus elements, including aerialists, fire performers, and acrobats.
For those looking for an upgraded experience, VIP packages are available. These include fast-track entry, exclusive viewing areas, private bars, and premium food options.
