Reading Festival 2025 kicks off its main musical lineup today, with thousands of fans flocking to the Richfield Avenue site. Friday’s schedule is packed with a huge range of artists across multiple stages, culminating in a headline performance from Irish singer-songwriter Hozier on the Main Stage. The day promises a diverse mix of genres, from indie and rock to pop and electronic music, ensuring there is something for every attendee to enjoy.
Joining Hozier on the Main Stage are major acts including breakout pop powerhouse Chappell Roan, whose performance marks her biggest in the UK to date. Indie-rock favourites The Kooks and Bloc Party also feature prominently. Over on the Chevron Stage, AJ Tracey and Rudim3ntal are set to draw large crowds. With so much talent on offer, festival-goers will face some tough decisions and inevitable clashes. Planning ahead will be crucial to catch your favourite sets.
For those unable to make it to the site, or for attendees wanting to relive the highlights, BBC Music will be providing extensive coverage across its platforms. A special highlight show of Chappell Roan’s highly anticipated performance will be broadcast on BBC One at 10:40 pm tonight. Live TV coverage begins at 2:00 pm on the dedicated Reading & Leeds iPlayer Channel, presented by Jack Saunders and Sian Eleri. Meanwhile, BBC Radio 1 will be broadcasting live from the festival between 11 am and 4 pm, bringing listeners live sets and interviews directly from Reading.
The famous BBC Introducing Stage will also be in full swing, offering a chance to discover new artists. Friday’s headliner on this stage is rising UK country star Chanel Yates.
