Afro Nation Portugal has unveiled a massive third wave lineup for its 2026 edition, adding nearly 20 new artists including two more headliners. Burna Boy and Uncle Waffles join the previously announced Asake, Wizkid and Tyla for the festival taking place 3-5 July at Praia da Rocha Beach in Portimão, the Algarve. Priority pre-sale tickets go live 5 February at 10am GMT, with general sale following on 6 February.
Burna Boy’s return marks another landmark moment in his ongoing relationship with Afro Nation. Last summer, the Nigerian superstar launched his album ‘No Sign of Weakness’ from the festival’s beach stage, delivering what organisers described as a defining performance. The announcement follows cryptic social media teasers where Burna shared ‘Burna Nation’ posts alongside Portimão’s coordinates, sending fans into speculation mode worldwide.

The new additions to the Lit Stage also include Ghanaian duo R2Bees, Nigerian artist Wande Coal, Uganda’s Joshua Baraka and Mavo. These artists join an already stacked lineup featuring current streaming record-breakers Asake and Wizkid, who recently released a joint EP together, alongside Tyla and special guests Gunna and Kehlani.
On the Piano People Stage, Uncle Waffles returns to headline after delivering some of the festival’s most memorable closing sets in previous years. The South African DJ and producer has become synonymous with Afro Nation’s Amapiano movement, with organisers crediting her performances as pivotal in propelling the genre onto the global stage. Her return comes fresh off a successful run of international shows and the landmark debut Piano People event in South Africa.
The Piano People Stage lineup has been significantly expanded with today’s announcement, adding Kelvin Momo, DJ Lag, DJ Tshegu, Felo Le Tee, JAZZWRLD & Thukuthela, Njelic, Nkosasana Daughter, Que DJ, Royal Musiq, Scotts Maphuma, Skyla Tylaa and Success SA. They join previously announced acts including Madumane (DJ Maphorisa), Focalistic, Amaroto and Daliwonga.

Beyond the music, Afro Nation has introduced new Travel Package options for 2026. The all-in-one packages combine festival tickets with accommodation from 1-6 July across four tiers: The Zen Den and Hangout, The House Of All Nations, The Marina Drip and The Flex. The packages are designed to offer a seamless festival experience for attendees.
The full Lit Stage lineup now includes Burna Boy, Asake, Wizkid, Tyla, Gunna, Kehlani, Mariah the Scientist, Olamide, Ludmilla, Niska, R2Bees, Theodora, Wande Coal, Awilo Longomba, Bien, Darkoo, Denden, Djodje, Joshua Baraka, Mavo and Young Jonn. The Piano People Stage features Madumane, Uncle Waffles, Focalistic, Kelvin Momo, Amaroto, Daliwonga, DJ Lag, DJ Tshegu, Felo Le Tee, JAZZWRLD & Thukuthela, LeeMcKrazy, Mawhoo, Mellow & Sleazy, Njelic, Nkosasana Daughter, Que DJ, Royal Musiq, Scotts Maphuma, Skyla Tylaa, Success SA and Zee Nxumalo.
