Alabama Shakes will headline On The Mount at Wasing on Thursday 2 July 2026, marking their first UK performance in a decade. The Grammy-winning band join a stellar lineup at the Berkshire concert series, with tickets going on general sale Friday 5 December at 10am via Ticketmaster.
The announcement sees Alabama Shakes return to live performance following the recent release of “Another Life”, their first new music in over ten years, and a successful North American tour. The band will perform at the woodland amphitheatre of Wasing Estate near Reading, joining previously announced headliners MIKA, Pixies and Self Esteem.
O2 presales begin Wednesday 3 December at 10am, followed by Ticketmaster presales on Thursday 4 December at 10am. General sale tickets become available Friday 5 December at 10am through Ticketmaster.
Formed in Athens, Alabama, the band comprises vocalist and guitarist Brittany Howard, guitarist Heath Fogg and bassist Zac Cockrell. They exploded onto the scene in 2012 with debut album ‘Boys & Girls’, which entered Billboard’s Independent Albums chart at number one and earned multiple Grammy nominations. Rolling Stone named lead single “Hold On” the best song of 2012.
The band’s second album ‘Sound & Color’, released in 2015, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and won Grammy Awards for Best Alternative Music Album and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. The album marked a significant evolution in their sound, with The New York Times Magazine praising their “soul-stirring, shape-shifting new sound”. Both albums achieved platinum certification from the RIAA.
On The Mount at Wasing returns in 2026 to the natural amphitheatre known as The Mount on Wasing Estate. The venue features a woodland trail entrance and wildflower-covered amphitheatre, creating what organisers describe as a transportive setting for world-class performances.
