Download Festival were due to reveal the first bands from the 2020 line-up at 2pm this afternoon, but the announcement was leaked an hour early by the official Black Veil Brides Facebook page.
An image shared at 1pm exactly shows Kiss, Iron Maiden and System of a Down will headline next summer. Deftones, Korn, The Offspring, Gojira, Disturbed and Black Veil Brides make up the rest of the announcement.
UPDATE 14:02: The leaked line-up has now been officially confirmed by Download.
Barclaycard customers can buy presale tickets at a 10 per cent discount from the Download Festival website, with tickets going on general sale from Wednesday.
The website RockSound.TV also published the announcement early, though this has now been taken offline. Their article said Alestorm, Daughty and Of Mice & Men are also on the line-up.
The official announcement revealed System of a Down are a UK festival exclusive for Download, quashing any rumours on social media they could appear at Glastonbury or Boomtown.
KISS are also a UK festival exclusive, and Download 2020 will be their last ever appearance in the UK.
Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickenson said: “Next year we will play a number of countries and cities we have yet to visit on this incredible tour, so it is terrific to be able to accept the invitation to return to Download in 2020 and we will certainly go to town and add a few extra items to the show.
“This will be our seventh time headlining at Donington Park. It’s home turf and we all really enjoy playing this Festival, the vibe from the crowd is always fantastic.”
Download Festival have been contacted for comment about the leak.
