If you weren’t lucky enough to be in the crowd at Glastonbury last night, you’ve still got plenty of time to watch Paul McCartney’s historic headline set on-demand from the comfort of your home.
He appeared on the festival’s iconic Pyramid Stage for a mammoth 2-hour 15-minute set featuring appearances by Dave Grohl and Bruce Springsteen. After Billie Eilish became Glastonbury’s youngest ever main stage headliner last night, Paul became the oldest ever Pyramid headliner after celebrating his 80th birthday earlier this week.
The former Beatle’s long-awaited performance was broadcast live on BBC One and on iPlayer, where it’ll remain available to stream for at least 30 days following the festival.

There’s plenty to keep busy with before then including Billie Eilish’s headline set from Friday and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds playing a set which starts with their own original songs before turning into back-to-back Oasis classics.
Earlier on Saturday, we found out Lily Allen was making her way into Glastonbury, according to an Instagram story she shared this afternoon.
In posted videos of her family in the car with her, the acclaimed artist asks Marnie Rose, her daughter, Rose if she’s “ready for Glastonbury?” – then in a subsequent snap, shown above, she writes: “She thinks she’s embarrassed now… wait till I hit that stage later”.
She went on to appear on stage with Olivia Rodrigo, when they dedicated a performance of her song ‘Fuck You’ to the US Supreme Court for overturning the Roe v Wade ruling on women’s rights. See the clip below.
Meanwhile, rumours continue to bounce around the Glastonbury campsites that Green Day are in line for a secret set at some point this weekend.
And the hype comes as no surprise, with mainstream media outlets touting them as favourites for a secret appearance the band playing two headline shows in London on Friday and Saturday before a suspicious-looking gap on the Sunday of their tour schedule.
Just yesterday, Bristol Live reported that a leaked secret set schedule had Green Day down to appear on the BBC Introducing Stage – though it also claimed Harry Styles would join Billie Eilish during her headline Pyramid Stage set last night, which he did not.
The constantly updated list of Glastonbury 2022’s secret sets still has plenty of empty slots during Sunday, where we know the stage and time but not who the artist will be – including the BBC Introducing Stage, Strummerville and The Bimble Inn – so you could have a look at Sunday’s list and have a guess at which is most likely. Or just keep them in mind in case you happen to be nearby.
Meanwhile, we still don’t know what’s happening with the John Peel Stage secret set at 2pm tomorrow. We thought the surprise Sunday slot was pretty much confirmed to be George Ezra after we saw signs had been made with the name of his recent album ‘Gold Rush Kid‘ – but on Thursday he revealed he’s got laryngitis and cancelled shows for at least 48 hours of recovery while his supposed Glasto’ appearance hangs in the balance.
