Glasgow Green has announced a unique late entry ticket that will allow fans to watch Scotland take on Morocco in the 2026 FIFA World Cup live on the country’s biggest screen, with the pre-match party headlined by Richard Ashcroft and an all-star Scottish supporting cast.

The late entry ticket, available now, lets fans arrive from 7.30pm to catch the tail end of TRNSMT 2026’s opening Friday night before an electric build-up to Scotland’s crucial Group C fixture. The game, being beamed from Boston onto the massive screens at Glasgow Green, follows a famous Scottish win in the early hours of Sunday morning that sent the nation into a frenzy.

Broadcaster Sean McDonald, best known for his podcast Blethered, will host proceedings, setting the tone for what promises to be one of the most unique sports and music events Scotland has seen in years. He’ll be joined by Rose Reilly, famously the only Scottish person ever to have won a World Cup, having lined up with the Italian women’s team in 1984 to clinch a historic winner’s medal and scoring in the final.

Radio DJ George Bowie will bring his beloved GBX set to the green, playing the big football anthems that have soundtracked countless Scottish sporting occasions, including Bits to Boogie. Comedian Rosco McClelland, who recently appeared in The Hangout at TRNSMT 2026, will perform his Scotland anthem inspired by the Cheers theme tune. Rounding off the pre-match build-up, piper and singer Cammy Barnes, who played the TRNSMT River Stage in 2024, will deliver a rousing rendition of Flower of Scotland right before kick-off.

Richard Ashcroft, the former Verve frontman who headlined Neighbourhood Weekender just weeks ago, will perform ahead of the pre-match festivities, giving late entry fans a taste of one of British rock’s most iconic voices before Scotland take to the field in Boston.

George Bowie said: “I’m buzzing to play Glasgow Green after TRNSMT this Friday and support the Scotland team with the best crowd in the world. I’ll be playing lots of the big football songs I’ve been part of, from Bits to Boogie and a surprise or two… and you never know who might join us on stage.”

Sean McDonald added: “I’m so excited to be part of such a massive day and night for Glasgow and for Scotland. The Glasgow Green crowd is always electric, and I know they’ll create an unbelievable atmosphere for the full game. Thousands of us together on the Green, getting behind Scotland at the World Cup in the middle of a party atmosphere… what more could you possibly want?”

Geoff Ellis, CEO of DF Concerts, said: “We’re building up to another huge weekend on Glasgow Green but it doesn’t get much bigger than showing a World Cup game on the nation’s biggest screen. We’ve got a cracking line-up taking us all the way to kick off, and when Cammy Barnes plays Flower of Scotland it will be a genuine ‘hairs on the back of the neck’ moment. It’s going to be a hugely special occasion and we can’t wait for it.”
