TRNSMT 2026 brings back The Hangout with comedy, Bongo’s Bingo and the promise of more secret sets

TRNSMT 2026 has confirmed that The Hangout will return to Glasgow Green this summer, bringing three days of comedy, Bongo’s Bingo, Drag-A-Oke and, if history is anything to go by, at least one very special surprise performance.

The over-18s space has quickly become one of the most-talked-about corners of the festival since its debut in 2024, when it was introduced as TRNSMT’s first dedicated adults-only area. It has already produced two of the festival’s most memorable moments, with Scottish rock legends Travis getting the crowd jumping at its inaugural edition, and Amy Macdonald delivering a stunning surprise performance in 2025.

This year’s programme is equally packed. Bongo’s Bingo returns with its fully immersive sessions, and Drag-A-Oke with Miss Lola Fierce gives festival-goers their daily chance to grab the mic. The comedy offering is headlined by the world-renowned The Stand Comedy Club, with a lineup featuring Karen Dunbar, comedy rapper MC Hammersmith, Scottish trio Weegie Hink Ae That?, and Billy Connolly Spirit of Glasgow Award winner Rosco McClelland, all hosted by Billy Kirkwood and Kate Hammer.

Rounding out the entertainment are DJ sets from DJ Rossi, Rumour House and Hana Jane, ensuring the parties keep going long after the main stages go dark. The Hangout runs across all three days of the festival, which takes place on 19-21 June 2026 at Glasgow Green, on the new earlier dates confirmed by organisers last year.

Festival Director Geoff Ellis said: “The Hangout has been a fan favourite since its introduction in 2024 and it’s great to be bringing it back with a huge variety of entertainment across all three days, from Bongo’s Bingo, Drag-A-Oke, comedy and brilliant live music with some stripped back sets and great DJs.”

As for what the secret set slots might bring, Ellis is keeping his cards close to his chest. “Travis and Amy Macdonald have delivered some of my top moments of the festival when they played secret sets at The Hangout,” he said. “Who knows what might lie in store this year?”
