The first chance to buy Glastonbury tickets in over two years took place tonight, with all ticket + coach travel packages that have been cancelled since they sold out in October 2019 placed back on sale.
As ever, it didn’t take long for tonight’s resale to start selling out. After going on sale at 6 PM, packages departing from some cities sold out almost instantly, with Seetickets confirming all Wednesday departures had gone by 6:14 PM. Then at 6:18 PM, they revealed all tickets had been sold.
Now the coach package resale is out of the way, the main resale for standard tickets will take place this Sunday morning at 9 AM.
At 6:19 PM, Glastonbury said on social media: “The Glastonbury 2022 coach + ticket packages on sale this evening have now all been sold. Our thanks to everyone who bought one. Standard tickets are on sale at 9am BST on Sunday morning and National Express will offer coach travel to standard ticket holders.”
Earlier this month, Glastonbury organisers revealed the official line-up poster for this summer’s festival. Emily Eavis said: “We are very happy to bring you the first shortlist of artists from the main stages for Glastonbury Festival 2022 – and if you can believe it there’s even more to come!”
Long-rumoured headliners Paul McCartney and Kendrick Lamar have had their slot confirmed. Also included in around 90 artists revealed today are Supergrass and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, who were both strongly rumoured, while Lorde and Sigrid are among the recent Glasto acts returning for 2022.
Paul McCartney will be 80 by the time Glastonbury comes around, which would make him the oldest ever Pyramid Stage headliner. He’s expected to perform the day after Billie Eilish headlines. Aged 20 at the time, she’ll be the youngest ever Pyramid headliner.
Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis previously confirmed on Twitter that the initial line-up poster will be published in March, with area line-ups to follow – before the complete line-up with timings is released in June, just before the festival.
Glastonbury 2022 will take place from Wednesday 22nd to Sunday 26th June at Worthy Farm near Pilton, Somerset. Tickets sold out ahead of the cancelled 2020 festival, though a resale of cancelled tickets will take place before the event.
