Glastonbury 2022: Field of Avalon reveals line-up poster

It's the first of many area line-ups to be announced

The first area line-up poster has been revealed ahead of Glastonbury’s long-awaited return this June, confirming over 20 additional artists to bolster the festival’s main line-up announced back in March.

The names set to appear on the field’s stages include McFly, Sugababes, Tanita Tikaram, Grace Petrie, Oh My God! It’s The Church and The Hoosiers.

Sharing the poster on the Field of Avalon social media accounts this afternoon, organisers said: “Your favourite Field returns with a bang, a hug and a Welcome Home! Our lineup for June is here for you, with love from us”.

Coming as the first of well over a dozen area line-up announcements, this is the earliest the Field of Avalon poster has been revealed since area-specific posters began ahead of Glastonbury 2015. Along with the colourful big-top tents hosting the live music stages and a selection of food stalls, Field of Avalon also features the much-loved Avalon Inn pub, Cafe Avalon and fairground rides.

Last week, the finalists of Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Competition were revealed along with an official Soundcloud playlist. The eight finalists will compete in the live finals at the end of April with the winner securing a slot on one of the festival’s main stages. History suggests many of the other finalists are also likely to appear somewhere at Glasto’ this summer.

All tickets for Glastonbury 2022 have now been sold. Resales of returned tickets were held towards the end of March which both sold out in a matter of minutes.

Earlier in March, Glastonbury organisers revealed the official line-up poster for this summer’s festival. Emily Eavis said: “We are very happy to bring you the first shortlist of artists from the main stages for Glastonbury Festival 2022 – and if you can believe it there’s even more to come!”

Long-rumoured headliners Paul McCartney and Kendrick Lamar have had their slots confirmed. Also included in around 90 artists revealed on the main poster were Supergrass and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, who were both strongly rumoured, while Lorde and Sigrid are among the recent Glasto acts returning for 2022.

Paul McCartney will be 80 by the time Glastonbury comes around, which would make him the oldest ever Pyramid Stage headliner. He’s expected to perform the day after Billie Eilish headlines. Aged 20 at the time, she’ll be the youngest ever Pyramid headliner.

Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis previously confirmed on Twitter that the initial line-up poster will be published in March, with area line-ups to follow – before the complete line-up with timings is released in June, just before the festival.

Glastonbury 2022 will take place from Wednesday 22nd to Sunday 26th June at Worthy Farm near Pilton, Somerset. Tickets sold out ahead of the cancelled 2020 festival, though a resale of cancelled tickets will take place before the event.
