Nothing But Thieves will play Rock Werchter on Friday 2 July 2027, joining the Main Stage at the Festivalpark in Werchter. Organisers confirmed the booking today, 3 November, with the Southend-on-Sea quintet set to bring fifth album ‘Stray Dogs’ to Belgium’s biggest music festival.
The date puts them on the same day as Muse, already booked to headline Friday. More names are still to come. Tame Impala, SOMBR, Angèle, Sam Fender, Turnstile and Massive Attack have already been announced for the weekend.
Rock Werchter 2027 runs from Thursday 1 to Sunday 4 July. Tickets are on sale via ticketmaster.be, with one-day, two-day and four-day options available. Camping is also on offer, from bringing your own tent through to glamping. A full overview of accommodation is on the Rock Werchter camping page.
The band formed in 2012 and have built an international career on hits including “Amsterdam”, “Impossible” and “Welcome to the DCC”. Organisers point to billions of streams, more than a million albums sold, and gold and platinum records worldwide. Their sound sits between alternative rock, indie and pop, carried by frontman Conor Mason, who moves between fragile melancholy and full-throated outbursts, backed by two guitars, bass and drums.
They have already refused to sit in one lane. ‘Broken Machine’, ‘Moral Panic’ and ‘Dead Club City’ kept shifting the sound, and ‘Dead Club City’ became their first UK number one. ‘Stray Dogs’ is the fifth album. The band went back to Angelic Studios, where the debut was made more than a decade ago, and deliberately chose a rawer, more organic approach, a reaction against the sleek, futuristic sound of the previous record. The new songs get an early live outing at the AFAS Dome in Antwerp in early 2027, before the Main Stage set at Werchter this summer.
For the Southend five-piece, the Werchter booking follows a step up at home. They headlined their first UK festival at Truck Festival in 2025, closing the ‘Dead Club City’ world tour, and played Glastonbury’s Other Stage in 2024. Friday at Werchter is the next festival marker in the ‘Stray Dogs’ era.
Rock Werchter bills itself as a festival that puts rock at the centre of an eclectic programme, pairing established acts with newer names. Full details are at rockwerchter.be.
