The Chemical Brothers have been named the second headliner of PHILLGOOD 2027, closing Saturday 17 July at the Rowing Canal in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
The Manchester duo join Robbie Williams, who was announced in September as the first headliner and will open the weekend on Friday 16 July. The third headliner, and more leading international names, are still to come. PHILLGOOD runs from 16-18 July 2027.
Ed Simons and Tom Rowlands will bring their full show to the banks of the canal, including the tracks and visual world they are known for. The press release calls the live set one of the most powerful audiovisual experiences in music, and says the booking marks a return to Bulgaria.
Formed in Manchester in the early 1990s, the pair took big beat out of the clubs and into pop culture. Their catalogue includes “Hey Boy Hey Girl”, “Block Rockin’ Beats”, “Galvanize”, “Wide Open”, “Got to Keep On”, “Go”, “Swoon” and “Star Guitar”. In close to 35 years they have collected multiple Grammy and BRIT Awards, sold more than 21 million physical records worldwide, including six UK number-one albums, and racked up billions of streams.
Their latest studio album, For That Beautiful Feeling, was met with critical acclaim. Reviews called them “electronic titans, as future-focused as ever” and noted that “after almost 30 years, there is still no one like them”.

PHILLGOOD made its debut in July 2026 with more than 35 artists across three days. The Cure, Gorillaz and Moby led the inaugural bill, joined by Kneecap, Wolf Alice, Suede, Sleaford Mods, Thievery Corporation, Daniel Avery, HAAi, Acid Arab, Kelly Lee Owens and more. Thousands of fans made the trip, with more than a quarter of the audience travelling from outside Bulgaria. Alongside sister festival Hills of Rock, promoter Fest Team attracted more than 60,000 visitors to Plovdiv across two weeks of live music.
Stefan Elenkov, CEO of Fest Team, said: “We want PHILLGOOD to bring the scale of Europe’s major festivals to Plovdiv. We saw it happen with the first edition, and now, with Robbie Williams and The Chemical Brothers on one stage in one weekend, we’re showing how far we can go together with an audience that believed in us before we had announced a single name. And the 2027 line-up is only just taking shape.”
Tickets are on sale as three-day passes from €199, with day tickets for the opening night from €99. Day tickets for the second night go on sale today. More info and tickets are at phillgood.ink.
Plovdiv is widely recognised as the oldest continuously inhabited city in Europe, with Thracian, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman layers still visible in the modern city, alongside a contemporary arts, food and nightlife scene. The Ancient Theatre of Philippopolis, built in the first century AD, is one of the best-preserved ancient theatres in the world and remains a working open-air venue.
