Boomtown Fair drop final, Lion’s Den district lineup

Boomtown tonight released their final district lineup poster, entitled ‘Temples, Forests, and Sound System Culture.’ The poster includes the famed reggae stage Lion’s Den, set to feature exclusive headline act Gorillaz. Also included are the lineups for the Hidden Woods and Tangled Roots stages.

Upon making the announcement, Boomtown organisers said on social media: “Celebrating a decade of the Lion’s Den, our shining temple will return in an almighty explosion of roots, reggae, dub and jungle. The Hidden Woods and Tangled Roots will be stacking the sound systems high and making the bass rumble low… xx

Boomtown Lions Den 2018 Lineup PosterThe announcement is hot on the heels of other district lineups that have been confirmed this week. Hip-hop, grime, and garage zone Barrio Loco and post-apocalyptic scrapyard DSTRKT 5 had lineups confirmed in recent days, with the famed Poco Loco stage hosting acts such as Ghetts, Nadia Rose, Foreign Beggars, and Lady Leshurr.

Boomtown sold out in record time

This summers Boomtown Fair sold out in record time, just a couple of weeks after confirming Limp Bizkit would headline the event alongside a UK exclusive festival performance from Gorillaz. The festival organisers had applied for an increase in capacity to 80,000 in December 2017, however, the application was reportedly dropped following discussions with Hampshire Police. The festival submitted a revised application to retain the 60,000 capacity of previous years.

Boomtown will be holding a ticket resale in June 2018, allowing those without tickets a chance to attend the sold-out festival. Like Glastonbury, Boomtown will sell tickets at short notice that have been refunded by original buyers, or where deposit scheme payments have not been made.
