First copies of ‘Glastonbury 50’ book arrive at Worthy Farm

The first copies of Glastonbury 50, the official book celebrating the 50th anniversary of the festival, have been delivered to Worthy Farm.

The book is authored by organisers Michael and Emily Eavis and will contain hundreds of photos, plus celebrity contributions including Adele, JAY-Z, Dolly Parton, Chris Martin, Noel Gallagher, Jarvis Cocker and Lars Ulrich.

Emily Eavis shared a photo of the proof copies on Instagram last night before images were posted on the official Glastonbury social media channels this morning.

The book will be released in just over four weeks on 31st October. An exclusive signed edition was available to pre-order from Waterstones but has now sold out.

“Working on this book has been a fantastic project for me and my dad in the fallow year and in the build-up to this year’s Festival. With our 50th anniversary fast approaching, we felt now was the time to put all of our memories and stories together in one place,” says Emily Eavis.

“It’s been a total joy to look back through piles of old photo albums and scrapbooks and to reflect upon what it meant at the time, and the incredible evolution of the event. I hope people who’ve been over the years will be able to reminisce and get a flavour of the rich history of Glastonbury through five amazing decades.

“It’s also been a real honour to have had so many great writers, artists and photographers willing to get involved in helping us to give the full picture.”

Glastonbury 50 will be released as a hardback. Anyone pre-ordering from Waterstones will be entered into a prize draw for a pair of Glastonbury 2020 tickets.

Coach travel package tickets for the festival will go on sale at 6pm on Thursday 3rd October. General admission tickets will then be sold at 9am on Sunday 6th October. All tickets usually sell out in under an hour.

Anyone who wishes to attend must be registered.
Registration will close THIS MONDAY 30th September at 5pm.
