Roskilde Festival has announced the first 24 artists for its 2026 edition, with Gorillaz confirmed as one of the headline acts performing at the expanded main stage. The 54th edition of the major Danish non-profit festival will take place from 27 June to 4 July 2026, welcoming 130,000 participants, and tickets are now on sale .
Damon Albarn’s genre-breaking cartoon band will deliver what promises to be an unforgettable musical and visual experience, performing hits including ‘Feel Good Inc.’, ‘Clint Eastwood’ and ‘Dare’ alongside material from their upcoming album Mountain, arriving next spring. The announcement also features Ethel Cain, whose vulnerable Americana and dark storytelling universe has captivated audiences worldwide since her Roskilde Festival debut in 2023, now returning with numerous critically acclaimed shows under her belt .
The diverse lineup spans 24 artists from 10 countries across five continents, blending genres and generations in line with the festival’s ethos of bringing people together through music. Notable additions include Catalan reggaeton star Bad Gyal, Mercury Prize-nominated British rapper Pa Salieu, Japanese DJ ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U, Nigerian Afrobeats singer Lojay, and American country singer Sierra Ferrell, who took home four Grammy Awards in February including Best Americana Album .
Full festival tickets for Roskilde Festival 2026 are priced at 2,600 DKK (approximately €348), with single-day tickets available for 1,430 DKK (approximately €191). Two-day tickets, allowing participants to combine any two of the festival’s last four days, cost 2,200 DKK (approximately €295), with all single-day and two-day options valid for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, or Saturday during the festival’s Final Days when the largest stages are open.
Thomas Sønderby Jepsen, Roskilde Festival’s Head of Music, explained the announcement reflects what the festival has always represented: “We are unveiling the first glimpse of a lineup that truly reflects what Roskilde Festival has always been about: bringing people together in a unique community across generations, backgrounds, and musical preferences – and giving artists a space where they can grow and develop.” He noted that several artists announced today have previously performed on the festival’s smaller stages and are now returning to larger audiences .
Jepsen emphasised the festival’s commitment to nurturing artistic development: “One of our key missions is to create an environment where art can evolve, because it is in these moments of breakthrough that new ideas, movements, and perspectives can emerge and unfold. This is also a part of our core values as an independent, non-profit festival.” The festival is organised by the Roskilde Festival Charity Society and powered by 27,000 volunteers .
Tickets are available through Tickster, Roskilde Festival’s new ticket distributor. Since 1971, the festival has brought generations together through music, art, and community, with all profits donated to humanitarian, non-profit, and cultural causes, particularly benefiting young people. Over the years, the festival has raised approximately 457 million DKK (approximately €61 million) for charitable distribution .
