Super Furry Animals have confirmed they will perform their landmark Welsh language album Mwng in full for the very first time, with the historic set taking place at TK Maxx presents Live at Llangollen Pavilion on Thursday 2 July 2026. Final tickets are on sale now at llangollen.net.
The announcement transforms what was already a hotly anticipated date into a genuine milestone for Welsh music. Released on 15 May 2000, Mwng was the first album sung entirely in Welsh to reach the UK Top 20, a bold, independent statement of cultural identity that resonated far beyond language or borders. Fans at Llangollen will hear the album performed start to finish, opening with the short, fuzzy rush of Drygioni, tripping through wiry punk-pop highlights including Ysbeidiau Heulog, and closing with the woozy, brass-layered Gwreiddiau Dwfn/Mawrth Oer ar y Blaned Neifion. A second set of fan favourites and career-spanning hits will follow.
When the Llangollen date was first announced last November, it gave fans who had missed out on the sold-out Supacabra 2026 Tour a second chance to see the band’s reunion in action. The decision to dedicate the show entirely to Mwng gives the date a significance all of its own. It marks the Furries’ first appearance at the International Pavilion venue since 1998 and is one of only a few confirmed Wales shows for the band across 2026.
The Llangollen headline slot follows the immediate sell-out of their Supacabra 2026 Tour, which included two shows at Llandudno Venue Cymru and a homecoming at Cardiff’s 7,500-capacity Utilita Arena in May. The Bristol Sounds show in June, which features support from Getdown Services and Gwenno, remains the only other outdoor date confirmed for the tour run. The band are also set to headline Moseley Folk and Arts Festival’s 20th anniversary edition in September.
Mwng was the band’s fourth studio album and the first to be independently released on their own Placid Casual label. Stripped back and defiantly intimate compared to the dense psychedelia of their earlier records, it remains one of the most culturally significant albums in modern Welsh music history. Its arrival in the UK Top 20 without mainstream radio support or a major label behind it was, at the time, a remarkable achievement.
Joining Super Furry Animals on the Llangollen bill are two of Wales’ most exciting live acts. Cardiff punk five-piece Panic Shack bring their sharp-witted, high-energy set, while psychedelic six-piece Melin Melyn round out a line-up that reads as a genuine celebration of Welsh independent music.

The show comes during a particularly active period for the band off-stage as well as on. Following the reissue of their seventh album Love Kraft in late 2025, the Furries are releasing early years compilation Precreation Percolation on 1 May 2026. The collection focuses on the band’s formation era through to their signing with Alan McGee’s Creation Records, and restores their first two EPs (originally released on Welsh independent label Ankst) to vinyl for the first time since 1995.
Formed in Cardiff in 1993, Huw Bunford, Cian Ciarán, Daf Ieuan, Guto Pryce and Gruff Rhys built their reputation on fearless experimentation, surreal visuals and a catalogue that refuses to sit still.
