Family-friendly fox Basil Brush has today confirmed a run of tour dates with his companion Mr Martin – and they include one run of shows at a location “to be announced” from 20th to 27th June. With the festival open to the public from 22nd to 26th June, it’s looking like The Basil Brush Show will again feature on the Glastonbury line-up.
Stopping slightly short of self-confirming their place, Mr Martin added: “A few dates we aren’t allowed to announce just yet, I think the dates give it away though.”
Basil Brush has performed in Kidzfield at the two most recent Glastonburys in 2017 and 2019. Prior to its cancellation, the show was also announced for Glastonbury 2021. While it’s pretty much a given the family-friendly show is now set for return at Glastonbury 2022, we don’t know if the ‘Unleashed‘ show “for grown-ups” will happen at the festival and haven’t seen anything to suggest it will.
Back in 2020, Mr Martin said: “A lovely morning back with me old mate filming for Glastonbury & BBC bits & bobs. I can’t even comprehend the lack of a Glasto festival this year Loudly crying facePouting face Anyway, we will be back in the Kidzfield in 2021 and it will be all the more wonderful.”
As it stands, only Billie Eilish, Diana Ross and R.A.E. have been officially confirmed by Glastonbury organisers as part of the line-up – with 2020 Emerging Talent Competiton runners-up ADIMAL and Matilda Mann also expected to appear.
However, a few other artists have self-confirmed their place, including Crowded House, Craig Charles, Papaphone and Black Dyke Band. The latter will open the Pyramid Stage on Sunday morning.
Billie Eilish will be the youngest ever Pyramid Stage headliner, at 20 years old when she performs on the Friday night. Diana Ross will take the Pyramid’s Sunday afternoon ‘Legends Slot’.
Harry Styles has also been rumoured to appear – as are Oasis, Supergrass, The Chemical Brothers, Wolf Alice and George Ezra.
The full line-up is usually revealed towards the end of May, just a few weeks before the festival, although more artists are often confirmed from February.
Glastonbury 2022 will take place from Wednesday 22nd to Sunday 26th June at Worthy Farm near Pilton, Somerset. Tickets sold out ahead of the cancelled 2020 festival, though a resale of cancelled tickets will take place before the event.
