Coach package tickets for Glastonbury’s 50th anniversary in 2020 went on sale at 6pm tonight and sold out in just 27 minutes.
A notice appeared stating all tickets for coaches departing on Wednesday had sold out at 6:23pm, with all Thursday departure tickets selling out shortly after at 6:27pm.
This was pretty much the same as last year, when Wednesday departures sold out after 22 minutes and Thursday departures after 29 minutes. For Glastonbury 2017, all coach tickets sold out in just 23 minutes.
All tickets sold tonight were bundled with coach travel from locations across the UK. Anyone who bought a ticket tonight will have to travel on the booked coach to collect their festival ticket and won’t be able to access Glastonbury via any other transport.
The main ticket sale for general admission tickets will be at 9am this Sunday (6th October). The line-up isn’t usually revealed until around a dozen weeks before the festival, set to take place from Wednesday 24th to Sunday 28th June 2020.
A £50 deposit is paid when tickets are booked, plus any applicable coach fare. The rest of Glastonbury’s £265 ticket price will need to be paid, plus fees, in April 2020. Any tickets not paid off are then placed into resales, giving anyone who misses out this week another chance at tickets.
For the first time this year, those that bought coach tickets will be given priority when booking Worthy View pre-pitched accommodation.
Taylor Swift is now the bookmakers’ favourite Pyramid Stage headliner, according to both Sky Bet and Betway.
Last weekend, Mel B told Jonathan Ross that Victoria Beckham could rejoin the Spice Girls for a Glastonbury appearance. Four of the band played a sold-out tour without Victoria earlier this year.
