Megadeth have officially launched their new beer brand, Megadeth Beer Co., in collaboration with the UK’s Black Sheep Brewery. The new range features Rattlehead IPA, Rattlehead Pilsner, and Rattlehead IPA Zero, which are now available for purchase in 450 Tesco stores across the UK and online at megadethbeer.com.

At a press event hosted at the O2 InterContinental Hotel on October 26, frontman Dave Mustaine discussed the craftsmanship behind the new venture. He drew parallels between brewing and music, stating, “Like in a band, you need harmony. Brewing’s the same. You’ve got to listen to the people who know how to make it sing.” Mustaine showed his admiration for the brewers themselves, calling them “the rock stars of the beer business.”

The instantly recognisable ‘Rattlehead’ branding was a key topic, with the band remarking, “It’s a symbol that’s always stood for grit and survival. It looks powerful on a can; like it’s meant to be there.” Mustaine also championed the inclusion of a non-alcoholic option in the lineup, emphasising taste over effect. “Some brewers might turn their nose up at zero-alcohol beer, but we all know that moment when you just want the taste – not the aftermath. It’s about balance, not compromise,” he explained.

When asked for the perfect Megadeth song pairings, Dave Mustaine and bassist James LoMenzo suggested listening to ‘Peace Sells’ with the IPA and ‘Mechanix’ with the Pilsner, adding, “You’ve got to get that engine running somehow.”

Looking ahead, Mustaine noted that while ideas for darker or bolder future brews have been discussed, the immediate focus is on growing Megadeth Beer Co.’s presence in new markets across Europe. Reflecting on his passion for his work, he concluded, “For me, whether it’s music or beer, it’s still fun.” The band also confirmed their final, self-titled album will be released on January 23rd, 2026.
