The closing ceremony tracks from ‘Boomtown Fair: Chapter 11’ last summer are now available on the SoundCloud page of their composer, Mandidextrous.

Part of the festival’s immersive storyline, Boomtown’s annual closing ceremony takes place simultaneously on two huge stages at opposite ends of the site. Both of the ceremony’s tracks have a D&B mix and a techno mix, with D&B being played on Relic and techno on the brand-new Nucleus stage.

Mandidextrous, known as The Jungletek Queen by fans, shared the tracks on her SoundCloud profile just before Christmas. She said: “This year [2019] I was given the absolute honour and mega challenge of composing all the closing ceremony tracks for Boomtown Fair to be used over the two main stages Relic and Nucleus.

“This was a mammoth task and took me 2 months or so to complete creating two original tracks Artificial Intelligence (D&B , Techno) and 2 remixes of Baiana by the amazing Barbatuques (D&B, Techno) Sadly the Techno version of Baiana was not used but here it is for you guys to enjoy anyway.

“I would like to thank Lak and all the team at Boomtown for this awesome opportunity and for having faith in me. It is by far the most monumental thing I have done in my musical career to date.

“Sadly we were unable to release these tracks anywhere else other than here and these tracks are available for free download Via Hypeddit as it would be fab to gain some extra followers of my music.

“As always having been a Boomtown resident since way back when I look forward to seeing you all on the dance floors in 2020. You will be able to find me at the Scrapyard no doubt jumping around in the DJ booth like a lunatic.”

The tracks were mastered by zimo and the vocals on Artificial Intelligence were performed by Doug Francisco.

One of the tracks also features in the official Boomtown Fair Chapter 11 after movie, shown below. Boomtown organisers also shared videos of Chase & Status performing on Relic and from The Streets’ set on Lion’s Den, and 35 hours of sets from the Tribe of Frog stage are also available on SoundCloud.

Last month, Boomtown revealed Kano as the first major headliner for next summer’s festival, dubbed ‘Chapter 12: New Beginnings”.The MOBO-winning artist will close the Lion’s Den stage on Sunday night. Other artists already confirmed include Noisia, Flogging Molly and Caravan Palace.

The remaining headliners and district line-ups will be revealed in early February. Boomtown co-founder Lak Mitchell recently said: “Over the years we’ve been working towards a festival that was truly an interactive experience. One that celebrated the whole musical spectrum but also led the way in creative thinking.  This evolution will culminate this year with a multi-stage theatrical spectacle, fused with all the other performance elements, on a scale we’ve never done before!”

As part of an environmental campaign launched last year, Boomtown have now helped TreeSisters plant over 71,725 trees in forests around the world. Tickets for Chapter 12 next summer are currently on sale with an optional £2 donation to the charity. The £2 works out as five trees, which means if everyone attending donates Boomtown could plant over 250,000 trees.

Boomtown Fair Chapter 12: New Beginnings will take place from Wednesday 12th to Sunday 16th August 2020 at the Matterley Estate near Winchester.
