Glastonbury 2020 tickets sell out in 34 minutes

Tickets for Glastonbury Festival’s 50th anniversary in 2020 sold out in just 34 minutes this morning after going on sale at 9am. Tickets packaged with coach travel sold out in 27 minutes on Thursday night.

This was slightly faster than last year when tickets sold out in 36 minutes and coach package tickets sold out in 29 minutes. It’s not the fastest they’ve ever sold out though – tickets for Glastonbury 2015 sold out in just 26 minutes.

Organiser Emily Eavis said demand was higher than ever as the official Glastonbury Twitter account confirmed tickets had sold out at 9:34am.

50 pairs of tickets will be sold in a “special ballot” with details to be announced soon.

For the first time this year, those that bought coach tickets will be given priority when booking Worthy View pre-pitched accommodation.

Taylor Swift is now the bookmakers’ favourite Pyramid Stage headliner, according to both Sky Bet and Betway.

Last weekend, Mel B told Jonathan Ross that Victoria Beckham could rejoin the Spice Girls for a Glastonbury appearance. Four of the band played a sold-out tour without Victoria earlier this year.

Michael Eavis has already confirmed Wolf Alice will be on the Glastonbury 2020 line-up, and Supergrass are rumoured to appear after reforming to play this year’s Pilton Party.
