Glastonbury organisers have revealed the official map ahead of the festival’s return this summer, giving us a first look at a bunch of tweaks, changes and improvements across the Worthy Farm site.
Some of these were expected, such as Campervans West being removed in favour of the new Sticklinch pre-pitched glamping area – and the surprise return of Arcadia’s much-loved spider which was confirmed just last week.
Other developments include new venue Totem in the South-East corner’s The Common area, which appears to be replacing the eco-friendly modular venue Samula which featured at Glastonbury 2019.
Other changes, highlighted by The Glasto Thingy on Twitter, include the BBC Introducing stage being moved a short distance out of the Silver Hayes area and the removal of The Wormhole venue between The Park’s Bimble Inn and the Crow’s Nest.
The map is likely to be further updated in the weeks ahead of the festival and in previous years, smaller venues not shown on the map were still there at the festival itself.
The Beat Hotel, which was set to leave the festival this year, has been replaced by San Remo. The new venue comes from the crew behind The Beat Hotel and shares the San Remo name with a stage at their Morocco event.
The inclusion of the EE Recharge Tent, complete with an updated EE logo, suggests the mobile network’s partnership with Glastonbury will continue this year. Along with recharging services and enhanced coverage on-site, it’s likely we’ll get an updated version of the EE Glastonbury app in the next few weeks. The app usually features an interactive map of the festival.
Colour changes on the map suggest some of the Pylon Ground campsite has switched from public camping to staff camping.
The GlastoTwisto Twitter account shared an animated GIF showing the changes between the Glastonbury 2019 map and the first public version of the Glastonbury 2022 map revealed this afternoon.
Earlier today, Glastonbury revealed the latest in the series of area-specific line-up posters. The Shangri-La ‘We The People’ line-up includes Fatboy Slim, Bob Vylan, AAA Badboy, Mandidextrous, Shy FX, Wargasm and Brass Against The Machine. It’s the seventh area of Glastonbury to have its 2022 line-up officially confirmed, with at least another ten still to come. This week, we had the Left Field line-up revealed yesterday on Monday morning, following confirmation of Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Competition results over the weekend. Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis McLaughlin won the live finals, though all seven artists who competed achieved slots on the upcoming Glasto line-up.
Last week, Glasto fans were delighted to discover the iconic Arcadia spider will be returning following planning issues with the giant crane, which had replaced the spider in 2019. The news came on Friday alongside the Arcadia line-up poster, which followed line-up posters for the Theatre & Circus fields, Glasto Latino, former dance village Silver Hayes and Field of Avalon.
The area line-ups have already bolstered the main Glastonbury line-up poster revealed in March with hundreds more artists including McFly, Sugababes and Gorgon City.
Recently, Glastonbury organisers revealed a limited edition poster print, from which all proceeds will go to War Child‘s Ukraine Emergency Fund. It features the festival’s 2022 artwork by Stanley Donwood reworked with the colours of the Ukrainian flag and will be produced on-site using the festival’s Heidelberg Cylinder printing press.
They’re now available to purchase from the online Glastonbury store for £25 with the sale limited to 2,022 prints, each of which will be numbered. They’re expected to be dispatched by the end of April, and last week, organisers shared the video below showing the printing process.

Long-rumoured headliners Paul McCartney and Kendrick Lamar have had their slots confirmed. Also included in around 90 artists revealed on the main poster were Supergrass and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, who were both strongly rumoured, while Lorde and Sigrid are among the recent Glasto acts returning for 2022.
Paul McCartney will be 80 by the time Glastonbury comes around, which would make him the oldest ever Pyramid Stage headliner. He’s expected to perform the day after Billie Eilish headlines. Aged 20 at the time, she’ll be the youngest ever Pyramid headliner.
Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis previously confirmed on Twitter that the initial line-up poster will be published in March, with area line-ups to follow – before the complete line-up with timings is released in June, just before the festival.
Glastonbury 2022 will take place from Wednesday 22nd to Sunday 26th June at Worthy Farm near Pilton, Somerset.
